Meet Katherine Johnson

This Black History Month, we celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Katherine Johnson, a pioneering mathematician whose groundbreaking work at NASA profoundly impacted space exploration and computing. Despite facing discrimination, Johnson's precision calculations were instrumental in numerous missions, including sending the first American astronaut into space and landing astronauts on the moon. Her resilience and brilliance continue to inspire generations, underscoring the importance of diversity and inclusion in computing and beyond.

Montgomery College’s Sonya Kovalevsky Program seeks to increase girls’ interest, confidence and competence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program provides participants with innovative learning opportunities while helping them to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Dawna J. Colbert and John Fitzpatrick Scholarships in Computing Studies

The Dawna J Colbert & John Fitzpatrick Scholarship

The TCGi Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to deserving high school graduating seniors and current college/university students who intend to pursue a course of study in computing at either a two-year or four-year educational institution. 

TCGi Scholarship Committee will award $2,500 per semester to a Black woman who will be attending a two or four-year institution. If enrolled in a 4-year institution the scholarship can amount to $10,000.

KnowBe4, the world's largest security awareness training, and simulated phishing platform, has $10,000 scholarships available for women pursuing degrees in cybersecurity, information science, or similar fields.
