Iribe Center for Diversity & Inclusion in Computing

New Initiative and New Newsletter!

As we shared at the beginning of the summer, Maryland Center for Women in Computing (MCWIC) is growing and expanding. The new Iribe Initiative for Inclusion and Diversity in Computing officially launched on April 28th during Maryland Day.

You can read more about the new initiative here. You can learn more about the new building and see pictures from Maryland Day here.

Our MCWIC programs and events will now be included in this newsletter for the Iribe Center for Diversity & Inclusion in Computing as we continue to grow and expand underneath this broader umbrella.

Girls Who Code

Registration Now Open!

The UMD chapter of Girls Who Code is officially returning this fall for girls in both middle and high school.

Girls Who Code helps us create a stronger community around girls and women that will empower the next generation to be leaders in technology. The club gives 6th through 12th grade girls the opportunity to explore coding in a fun and friendly environment and exposes our participants to careers in technology.

We will be holding classes on Sundays 1-3pm this semester from September 9th - November 11th at the University of Maryland Computer Science Instructional Center. The program and classes are entirely free.

Follow the link below and fill out the application to apply.
