The Women in Engineering Program in the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland is pleased to introduce:

WIE Run the World Virtual 93 Minute Movement Challenge
Everyone welcome!

Learn more!

This FREE virtual, community-building event honors Jeanette Epps (M.S. ‘94, Ph.D. ‘00), who in 2021 will become the first African-American woman to join an International Space Station Crew. The International Space Station orbits the earth roughly every 93 minutes. Therefore, we challenge participants to complete 93 minutes of movement during Women's History Month in March. Any activity counts — walking, biking, swimming, running, hiking — whatever makes them feel empowered, encouraged, and strong!

WIE Change the World: An Introduction to Engineering
Rising 9th - 12th graders

Learn more!
This virtual program is geared toward high school-aged women who are considering majoring in engineering and potentially pursuing it as a career.  This week-long virtual program will introduce participants to the various disciplines of engineering through engaging lessons and lectures, hands-on activities, and conversations with faculty, staff, and students in the Clark School of Engineering.

How Can Data Predict What is Next?
Rising 9th - 12th graders

Learn more!
Are you interested in how data can predict "what's next", create compelling arguments, or guide our actions and decisions? Then this summer experience might be for you! Data science demonstrates how we use data to characterize, visualize, and operationalize our decision-making processes . Modeling and analyzing data form the foundation of policies you are affected by, public planning you interact with, how economies operate, and more.

To learn more and register, visit: WIE Programs!

WIE Engineering Lunch Bunch
