Research Project Recruitment
Anyone who is interested in potentially working on research projects related to data science, HCI, and visualization should feel free to stop by Prof. Battle's office hours at 2pm on Thursdays in IRB 5148. Prof. Battle's website has more info about research topics and published research papers:
http://www.cs.umd.edu/~leilani/

For all projects, students are expected to commit for at least 2 consecutive semesters (summer is also an option), and to commit to 6-10 hours of research per week. Prof. Battle is more than happy to advise student research for credit (e.g., CMSC499A). Students do not have to come in with a specific idea, there are several ongoing research projects where students of all levels can get involved. However, prior experience with Python and/or JavaScript is preferred.
