Research Oportunities

Video Games & Learning

We are currently looking for youth between the ages of 13 and 15 to participate in a research study about learning in video games. Due to the ongoing pandemic we are unable to do in-person data collection at this time, but we would still love to have your child participate. We are inviting you to participate in online data collection. If you are interested we will send you a version of our game that can be played on your home computer. We will send you a secure link to a call over Zoom, help you to launch the game, and then record your child while they play the game and answer some questions. As a way of saying ‘thank you’ we will provide a  $15 Amazon gift card. If you are interested in participating, please let us know and we will send documents that further describe the data collection procedures, and a researcher with our team will work with you to schedule a date that works for both you and your child.

If you are interested please contact Anthony Pellicone at apellico@umd.edu, who will work with you to arrange a time for data collection, provide technical details for participation, and answer any questions you might have. We have included more detail about the study below.
