The Maryland Center for Women in Computing (MCWiC) is a great resource for you during your time as a woman in computing.  Additional details for all above activities are below.

The MCWIC Lounge (AVW 3147) will be open with limited furniture for the rest of the semester, however students are invited to gather in IRB 1104 outside of GSS times or busy tutoring times.

Wonder Women in Tech Global Summit- May 1st

We were able to secure tickets to a large tech conference in DC on May 1st, Wonder Women in Tech . 

In order to receive one of our discount codes, we are asking everyone to complete this form by Friday, April 12th. To receive the code, you should be able to attend most of the day (9am-6pm).  Complete this Google Form to get access to the registration code and let us know if you are interseted in group transportation. 

We will also write a note from MCWIC that you can give to all of your instructors. They may excuse you, but it won't count as an official excused absence.

Important Note: An opening reception with light refreshments will begin at 5:15pm with the program starting at 5:30pm. The digital theater presentation will start at 5:45pm with no late seating.

Professional Conference Travel Funds

The Center has professional development scholarships available to UMD students interested in traveling to conferences, workshops, hack-a-thons, and other professional development events. Applications are typically reviewed within two weeks of submission. Questions about this process can be addressed to mcwic@cs.umd.edu

 Tutoring for
CMSC 131, 132, 216, 250, 330, & 351

IMPORTANT NEW LOCATION FOR TUTORING
Tutoring is moving to IRB 1104 beginning Monday. 

Tutors offer support on general concepts, practice problems, and theories in the computer science intro classes for ALL students. Tutors do not offer support on specific project or homework questions.

This form will give you access to a Google Calendar to sign-up for 1:1 appointments. 

Guided Study Sessions are group tutoring opportunites for each class. They are held twice a week for 1 hour in IRB 1104 (near the 1st floor elevators) 

Guided Study Session times for each class are listed below:
CMSC 131:       Tues 9:30am & Wed 5:30pm
CMSC 132:       Mon 6pm & Wed 11am
CMSC 216:      Mon 5pm & Thur 6:30pm
CMSC 250:       Mon 3:30 & Tues 5pm
