Originally from California, Jessica is a front end developer with Deloitte Digital. During the day she makes clean, well written websites with an eye for accessibility, and ease of use. After work she serves on the leadership teams for both DCFemTech and DC Tech Meetup, helping to run events and promote women in tech. She is actively involved with Women Who Code DC and General Assembly DC, teaching classes, running trainings, and doing talks on career transitions, front end web development, and more.
Jessica made her career transition to tech over the course of a year - teaching herself front end web development and eventually taking a General Assembly bootcamp course. She holds a degree in International Relations and comes with a previous career in transatlantic relations, internationalization of higher education, and German-American cooperation. Jessica brings unique viewpoints to web development having lived and traveled all around the world. She is passionate about bringing other view points to tech as a way to democratize technology knowledge and simply make better programs! Jessica loves JavaScript, gardens, cats, and gifs.
