Break Through Tech’s Guild program offers undergraduate students a low-risk, high-reward chance to explore tech. This August, over 70 Guild participants will spend a week developing solutions to financial technology problems with the help of industry mentors.

More than 20 tech professionals from eight organizations are partnering with Break Through Tech DC to guide UMD undergraduates through the Guild program.

“Our industry mentors add so much value to our Guild program,” said Kate Atchison, site lead for Break Through Tech DC at UMD and associate director of the Iribe Initiative for Inclusion and Diversity in Computing. “By guiding our students as they use their creativity and develop tech skills to solve a real-world problem, they are joining our efforts to build a more inclusive tech ecosystem.”

Five of this year’s Guild industry partners (with asterisks below) are returning after participating in the 2023 program.
